True sunlight anywhere indoors – the Most energy efficient light source available
Filters heat & doesn’t bleach – Easy installation – built in tracking system – APP controlled

What is it?
– A revolutionary system to bring sunlight to dark rooms.

The system consists of the Concentrator that follows the sun and concentrates the sunlight onto the Light cable to one or multiple light distributors – Luminaries – that the user attaches to the ceiling or walls. The system is then operated with an app that also guides the set up procedure.

The Concentrator is mounted on a roof, terrace, balcony, garden – or any place with good sunlight throughout the day – and the Light Cable is connected and routed into the building via existing or new pathways (diameter 32 mm). One or more luminaries are used to replace or, more likely, complement existing lights and windows.

Solros currently offers luminaries (check the shop for latest inventory!) for purchase and there will be plenty more made available soon – we welcome architects, builders, interior planners and individual customers to use the light in any way they see fit.

Concentrator

Consists of a Fresnel lens that concentrates the light onto the Light cable. The Concentrator follows the sun with a patented algorithm so even when the weather is cloudy the Concentrator still knows exactly where it is. When the sun comes out, the lens concentrates the sunlight perfectly onto the light cable. It is light weight, weighing in at approximately 7 kg (16 pounds) and is powered by 12 V DC thru the AC adapter inside the Concentrator. The power cord can therefore be connected to 110-240V AC, whatever is the normal grid voltage in your building.

Light cable

Splits into four thinner cables at 200 cm for the choice of even distribution to separate light points, consists of 37 optical fibers that leads full spectrum sunlight is encapsulated in a cable that is around 10 mm (0.4 inch) wide. The Light cable end distributes the light in a even 60 degree cone. The Light cable attenuates the light at circa 0.15 dB/m the light, so your actual light output will depend on the length of your light cable.

Light

As a simple reference, we often explain that a regular modern lightbulb with 40 watt effect produce approximately 450 lumen (Solros 10000 lumen at full sunshine) and is subject to a lot of parameters. Operation

When the Solros is in place, a few simple steps with the Solros app / online portal you will get the guidance you need to get it up and running, set timings and keep track on sun hours, for instance. This digital backbone will be under constant development in the future, so expect many new features!
